What to do & see
Perithia
Perithia is the oldest village in Corfu. You can find many ruins and stone built houses as well as 3 traditional tavernas at the main square. It is located right in the middle of the mountain and worths visiting.
Doukades: One of our favorite spots, a traditional small Corfiot village on the road to Palaiokastritsa with 3 traditional tavernas, a café and a church. You must try the “pastitsada dish” which is their specialty and for vegans “gemista” (stuffed peppers with rice) is the ultimate dish.
Corfu town.
What to do & see
Chlomos village
On top of the mountain right above Mesongi, Chlomos is one of the oldest villages in Corfu. Feel free to walk around and enjoy the beautiful seaviews from Balis tavern.
What to do & see
Boukari village
The virgin side of Corfu. Pass Mesongi and drive along the coast towards to picturesque villages of Boukari and Petriti. Boukari is a dream with the small coves formatted along the coast and offers some of the best fish taverns. Karydis is our personal favorite and offers tables right on the sea. Try the “bianco” cooked fish in the pot in wine and garlic with potatoes, the famous tarama, fresh fish of the day, the marinated anchovies and any other dish that Akis the owner recommends.
What to do & see
Notos
Words are not enough to describe this place. A botanical garden blossoming, full of exotic trees, banana trees, colorful flowers and a blue lagoon located right at the bottom. Visit Taverna Panorama and go down the steps to find yourself in a hidden paradise. Unknown to many people this secret spot is one of the best places to visit and spend the day.
What to do & see
Vidos
Ideal for a short boat trip, this small island just opposite Corfu used to be a Serbian cemetery for a while. On the island you can find small animals like rabbits and ducks and other birds. It is away from crowds and mass tourism and is only 15 mins away on boat starting from the Old Port of Corfu.
What to do & see
Kanoni
A few kilometers away from Batelo, on the way to Corfu you can stop at Nisos Restaurant, go down to the seaside and cross the bridge that connects Perama with Kanoni. Stand on this bridge for a while and watch the planes landing right above you. A truly amazing experience to feel so close to the plane during landing and a famous spot for photographers. Flisvos restaurant further down is the place to have a coffee, while a visit to Vlacherna Church and the islet of Pontikonisi is also perfect to combine.
